Workiz is built around the phone: a built-in phone system, call tracking, an AI answering service, and dispatch for call-heavy trades like locksmiths, garage doors, junk removal, and appliance repair. It's a strong product for that shape of business. What it doesn't do is tell you what it costs.

The short version
- Workiz doesn't publish prices. Its pricing page lists Standard, Pro, and Ultimate, each behind "Request pricing," and says annual billing saves "$400+." Subser's prices are $19, $49, or $99 a month, on the page.
- Workiz's headline tools are sold separately. Genius Phone, Genius Answering, and Genius Marketing are all add-ons on every plan. Subser has no add-ons.
- Workiz has real depth Subser doesn't: subcontractor management, inventory, purchase orders, service plans, and QuickBooks sync on every plan. Some are Ultimate-only.

Where Workiz is the better choice
- Your business runs on inbound calls. Workiz's integrated phone system (call tracking, recording, masking, flows) and Genius Answering are the center of the product. Subser has no phone system and no answering service.
- You use subcontractors. Workiz lists subcontractor management on every plan. Subser doesn't list it.
- You carry inventory or issue purchase orders. Both are on Workiz Ultimate. Subser has neither.
- You need QuickBooks sync. Workiz includes it on every plan. Subser's is on the roadmap, not live.
- You run multiple locations or a franchise. Multi-location management from Pro, franchise management on Ultimate. Subser is built for owner-operators and small crews.
- You want consumer financing at the door. Workiz Pay lists it on every plan. Subser doesn't offer it.
Where Subser is the better choice
- You can see the price before you talk to anyone. $19, $49, or $99, month-to-month, on the pricing page. Workiz requires a sales conversation to learn what it costs.
- Nothing is sold separately. Workiz's phone, answering, and marketing tools are add-ons; its own comparison table marks them "sold separately." Subser's pricing page lists everything included.
- Up to 75 team members on every plan. Workiz's page doesn't state how many users a plan includes or what an extra one costs. Subser's does.
- 14-day trial instead of 7. Two weeks is enough to run real jobs through it, not just click around.
- A public profile backed by state records. Subser's directory shows Washington L&I license, bond, and insurance status and a Confidence grade that can't be purchased. Workiz's "Reputation Manager" (inside Genius Marketing) helps you collect reviews; Subser's directory has none by design.
- Your data comes in easily. Import your customer list by CSV and start running jobs the same day. Export is on Subser's roadmap and isn't live yet; we'd rather say that here than have you find out later.
Who should pick which
- Stay on Workiz if: the phone is your front door, you dispatch to subs, or you need inventory and purchase orders.
- Move to Subser if: you want to know the price up front, you don't need a phone system, or your crew is small enough that seat pricing (whatever Workiz's is) matters.
- Ask Workiz for a written quote first if: you're undecided. Compare its twelve-month total, add-ons included, to Subser's $588/year for Pro.
Switching FAQ
Can I move my customer list from Workiz?
Workiz supports exporting clients and jobs; import the CSV into Subser. Keep both accounts open until you've checked the import. Subser imports your customer list today, not jobs, and doesn't export yet; export is on the roadmap.
Will I keep my Workiz phone number?
Numbers issued through Workiz's phone system belong to that service; porting rules vary. Ask Workiz in writing before you cancel if the number is on your trucks.
Does Subser have a phone system or answering service?
No. If you need one, pair Subser with a standalone service and compare the combined cost to Workiz plus its Genius add-ons.
Does Subser sync with QuickBooks?
Not yet; it's on the roadmap. Workiz does, on every plan.
Does Subser manage subcontractors?
Not today. Workiz lists it on every plan; if dispatching to subs is central to how you work, that's a reason to stay.
