What we collect

Automatically, when you visit

When you browse subser.com, we automatically receive standard technical information:

• Your IP address (used to approximate your region and detect duplicate form submissions)
• Browser type, operating system, and screen dimensions
• Pages visited, time on page, and the URL that referred you here
• UTM campaign parameters (e.g., utm_source, utm_campaign) if you arrived from an ad or email

We assign you a randomly generated visitor ID (stored in a cookie named _subser_vid) so we can connect your visits over time without requiring an account. If you arrive via a tracked link, we also store a lead ID in _subser_lid.

When you fill out a form

On our cost estimator page, we collect the information you enter:

• Your ZIP code and job details (type, description, status)
• Project cost information you choose to share
• Your email address and opt-in preference (if you choose to provide them)

On our waitlist form, we collect only your email address.

What we don't collect

We don't collect payment information on this site. We don't require you to create an account to browse, and we don't tie your visitor ID to your real identity unless you submit a form with your email.

How we use it

• Improving the site. Page view data and technical metrics help us understand what's working and what's not.
• Marketing attribution. UTM parameters and visitor IDs help us understand which marketing efforts are actually reaching builders.
• Responding to cost submissions. If you submit project cost data and include your email, we may reach out about how your data helps improve subser, or to send you relevant content if you opted in.
• Waitlist communications. If you join the waitlist, we'll email you when we launch or have relevant updates. You can unsubscribe anytime.
• Fraud and abuse prevention. IP addresses help us detect duplicate or bot-generated form submissions.

We don't sell your data. We don't use it for purposes other than those described here.

We use a small set of third-party tools to operate this site. Each receives some data about your visit:

Cookies

We use a minimal set of cookies — no third-party advertising cookies or tracking pixels beyond what's described above.

You can clear or block cookies in your browser settings at any time. Some site features may behave differently without cookies, but nothing essential requires them.

Your rights

Regardless of where you live, you can:

• Unsubscribe from any email using the link at the bottom of that email
• Request deletion of your form submission data or email by contacting us
• Opt out of PostHog analytics by enabling Do Not Track in your browser — we honor it
• Ask what we have. Email us and we'll tell you what data we hold associated with your email or IP

If you're in California (CCPA), the EU or UK (GDPR), or another jurisdiction with specific privacy rights, the above covers the substance of those rights. We don't sell data, so there's no opt-out-of-sale needed.

Using the subser platform?

This policy only covers subser.com — the marketing and information site you're on now. If you're a builder or end customer using the subser app (job management, real-time tracking, invoicing), a separate and more detailed privacy policy applies to that data.
