Subser vs ServiceTitan

These two aren't built for the same business, and this page says so. ServiceTitan is the enterprise platform for the trades, sold per technician with a demo and an implementation. Subser is a flat-priced app for owner-operators and crews up to 75. If you're a 40-truck HVAC company, you're on the wrong page. If you're a 4-truck one being quoted ServiceTitan, keep reading.

The short version

  • ServiceTitan doesn't publish prices. Its pricing page says "per-technician pricing," lists Starter, Essentials, and The Works behind "Request Pricing," and offers a demo rather than a trial. Subser is $19, $49, or $99 a month, on the page, with a 14-day trial.
  • ServiceTitan is priced per technician; Subser isn't priced per anything. Every Subser plan includes up to 75 team members.
  • ServiceTitan's feature depth is real and Subser doesn't pretend otherwise: call recording, capacity planning, marketing ROI tracking, memberships, commission tracking, payroll, accounting integrations, and eight paid "Pro" products.
  • The right question isn't which is better; it's which is sized for you. ServiceTitan says it's trusted by over 100,000 contractors and builds for enterprise, franchise, and private-equity operators. Subser says it's for owner-operators and small crews.
  • Only Subser gives you a public, state-verified profile.

Pricing, side by side

ServiceTitan

From servicetitan.com/pricing. No prices are published there, so none appear here.

ServiceTitan doesn't publish prices. Its pricing page describes "per-technician pricing" across three packages — Starter, Essentials, and The Works — each behind a "Request Pricing" button, and there's no self-serve trial; you book a demo. If you're being quoted, ask for the per-tech rate, the implementation fee, and the contract term in writing, then compare the twelve-month total to Subser's $49/mo Pro with your whole crew included.

What ServiceTitan's page does say: Starter covers dispatching, scheduling, call booking, invoicing, and a pricebook. Essentials adds mobile estimates and payroll management. The Works adds advanced reporting, commission tracking, and customizable memberships. Pro products (Marketing Pro, Dispatch Pro, Pricebook Pro, Fleet Pro, Scheduling Pro, Contact Center Pro, Field Pro, AI Virtual Agent) are separate.

What it doesn't say: any price, the minimum number of technicians, the contract length, the implementation or onboarding fee, or the processing rate. If you're in a sales cycle, ask for all five in writing and total the first twelve months.

Feature comparison

Where ServiceTitan's pricing page names a feature, it's marked. Where a feature lives on a marketing page but not the pricing page, we left the cell blank. Blank doesn't mean "no."

Where ServiceTitan is the better choice

  • You have a dispatcher, a CSR, and a marketing budget you need to attribute. Call booking, call recording, and marketing ROI reporting are core ServiceTitan features. Subser has none of them.
  • You sell memberships and pay commissions. Both are on The Works. Subser has neither.
  • You run payroll, inventory, or multi-location accounting through your field software. ServiceTitan lists payroll from Essentials, plus inventory, accounting, and enterprise/franchise solutions. Subser doesn't list any of these.
  • You're growing past 15–20 techs. Per-technician pricing with an implementation makes sense when there's an office to absorb it. That's the business ServiceTitan is built for.
  • You want an ecosystem: a marketplace, training, a conference, private-equity tooling. Subser is one small team in Seattle.

Where Subser is the better choice

  • You can see the price and try it today. $19, $49, or $99 a month on the pricing page; 14-day trial, no card, no demo call. ServiceTitan is quote-only and demo-only.
  • No per-technician math. Up to 75 team members on every Subser plan. On ServiceTitan the bill scales with headcount by design.
  • No implementation project. Sign up, import your customers, run a job. ServiceTitan lists onboarding as a company function; the cost and timeline aren't on the pricing page.
  • Month-to-month. Subser has no contract. ServiceTitan's pricing page doesn't state its terms; ask before signing.
  • A public profile backed by state records. Subser's directory shows Washington L&I license, bond, and insurance status and a Confidence grade nobody can buy. ServiceTitan's customer experience tools are private to your customers.
  • Your data comes in easily. Import your customer list by CSV and start running jobs the same day. Export is on Subser's roadmap and isn't live yet; we'd rather say that here than have you find out later.

Who should pick which

  • Choose ServiceTitan if: you have office staff, you sell memberships, you attribute marketing spend, or you're past ~15 techs and planning to double.
  • Choose Subser if: you're 1–10 people, you want the price up front, you'd rather not run an implementation, or you want a state-verified public profile alongside the tools.
  • If you've been quoted ServiceTitan and you're under 10 techs: total the twelve-month quote, implementation and Pro products included, and put it next to $588 (Subser Pro for a year) or $1,188 (Business). Then decide whether the gap buys features you'll use this year.

Switching FAQ

Can I move from ServiceTitan to Subser?

Yes, for the basics. Export customers and job history from ServiceTitan's reports and import the CSV into Subser. Memberships, commission structures, and marketing attribution have no equivalent on Subser, so they don't move. Subser imports your customer list today, not jobs, and doesn't export yet; export is on the roadmap.

Is Subser a ServiceTitan replacement for a 30-tech shop?

No, and we'd rather say so than have you find out in month two. Subser is built for owner-operators and crews.

Does Subser sync with QuickBooks?

Not yet; it's on the roadmap.

Does Subser have call booking or a phone system?

No.

Is there a contract?

Subser is month-to-month. ServiceTitan's pricing page doesn't state its terms; get them in writing.

Why compare them at all?

Because small contractors get quoted ServiceTitan. If that's you, this page is the honest version of the conversation.

Built for crews, not call centers.

Subser Pro is $49/mo for up to 75 team members, with unlimited jobs, routing, and live arrival tracking. Month-to-month, no implementation, no card to start.
